Current Reads #16

monster Yay!! It’s time for my Current Reads! I only have one book to talk about, so let’s get started. I won’t keep you long. LOL.

Monster In His Eyes by J.M. Darhower- Goodreads synopsis: “Ignazio Vitale is not a good man. I suspect it, the first time I see him, sense the air of danger that surrounds the man. He has a way of commanding attention, of taking control, of knowing what I’m thinking before I even do. It’s alarming and alluring. It’s dark and deadly. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted but the last thing I truly need. Obsession. It doesn’t take him long to draw me into his web, charming me into his bed and trapping me in his life, a life I know nothing about until it’s too late. He has secrets, secrets I can’t fathom, secrets that make it so I can’t walk away, no matter how much I beg him to let me go. I see it sometimes in his eyes, a darkness that’s both terrifying and thrilling. He’s a monster, wrapped up in a pretty package, and what I find when I unmask him changes everything. I want to hate him. Sometimes, I do. But it doesn’t stop me from loving him, too.”

*Shudders* Ooh, wee! Can’t wait to meet this Ignazio!

Let me know what you’re reading in the comments.

Cheers, homies!

Time for Current Reads!!

priest Priest by Sierra Simone- Synopsis: “There are many rules a priest can’t break. A priest cannot marry. A priest cannot abandon his flock. A priest cannot forsake his God. I’ve always been good at following rules. Until she came.” Wow. I just hope God forgives me for reading this scandalous erotic romance. Lol.

IT IT by Stephen King- On the first of June I’ll¬†start buddy reading IT. My bud, Darla, and I plan to spend the entire summer reading this, with occasional breaks because this book is a BEAST. I’ll be reading additional books at the same time, but the plan is to finish IT before the new film adaptation comes out in September.

Thanks for reading!

Cheers, homies! And remember that we all float! ūüėÄ

jack Peaceable Kingdom by Jack Ketchum- I purchased this collection of short stories this weekend. I’ve always wanted to read something by Mr. Ketchum. If the first story is any indication, then I’m in for a dope read.

finalFinal Ride: Lords Of Mayhem Book 4 by Shyla Colt- This is the fourth installment of the Interracial Romance series set in the biker world. I finished this late last night, but wanted to include it in this post. I’ll have a mini review in an upcoming Finished Reads.

Here are my Current Reads!

wolfWolf Hunt by Jeff Strand- Jeff Strand is a horror author that came highly recommended. A few horror devotees- that I respect, suggested that I check out his work. This novel is about a pair of goons hired to transport a werewolf cross-country, and somehow the werewolf escapes. Seems like there’s going to be some comedy mixed in with the horror. Let me finish this post so I can get to reading!

live Live Free: Lords Of Mayhem Book 3 by Shyla Colt- I’m enjoying this series so much. I can’t wait to see how it ends. Book 3 features Evonne and Rocky. Rocky was picked to protect Evonne (a friend of the club), from her psychotic ex. From the synopsis it looks like Evonne is going to take out her frustrations on Rocky. Ooh, yeah! Get him, gurl!

I’m thrilled to be sharing the latest batch of books that I’m currently reading. As I’ve said in previous posts, 2017 is the year for dopetastic books.

walk Walk the Line: Kings of Chaos Book 5 by Shyla Colt- I’ve read several books by this author lately, and this is the current release. I’ve been hyped to read this for weeks. The damn cover is everything! From the synopsis this is a novel about two people with traumatic pasts, who form an intense bond, and make a deep love connection.

forever Forever is the Worst Long Time by Camille Pagan- I’m not even going to lie, the cover of this book was why I decided to pick this up. I’m hoping that the¬†story is just as vibrant, and enthralling as the cover. Goodreads says this is “a wry, heartfelt exploration of love and loss”. Sounds just right for me!

It’s time for my Current Reads!

13 Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher- My homie, Darla, and I are reading this together. I swear I loves me a good buddy read! In this novel a teen girl commits suicide, but records a series of tapes before she dies. On the tapes she lists the reasons for her impending demise, and sends the tapes to those who had a hand in her death. We’ve only been reading the book for two days, but I’m hyped for what’s ahead.

wildOne Wild Ride: Lords Of Mayhem Book 2 by Shyla Colt- This is the second book in Ms. Colt’s Lords Of Mayhem series. I’m really loving this MC world.¬†Joey and Moose are members of their best friends’ bridal party. Between them is an explosive attraction that I’m so ready to read about. Ooh wee!!

It’s a YA, Sci-Fi story¬†about seventeen-year-old, Jaylen Hayes who discovers “who- and what, she really is”. Ooh!! I’m buddy reading this with a homie, and I’m thrilled to¬†learn the origin of Jaylen.

Current Reads #8

Here are my Current Reads for the week of March 5, 2017.

bikeThe Biker’s Librarian by Shyla Colt- This is an Interracial Romance novel involving the classic “good girl”, and a biker she met during a night out. I’ve read the work of Ms. Colt before, and I enjoyed everything. I already know this novel will be loaded with insane chemistry, and hot as hell sex scenes that will melt the words right off the pages.

asleep Asleep by Banana Yoshimoto- Ms. Yoshimoto’s work was suggested by someone I watch on YouTube. She writes in the magical realism/surrealism, and contemporary genres. Asleep is a short story collection revolving around sleep. Sounds simple though I’m guessing it’s anything but.

Cheers, homies!

Current Reads #7

It’s that time again! Time for my Current Reads! Side Note: I wrote out this post around the second week of February, and have since finished two out of the three books mentioned. I just decided to include those books anyway, and will give my mini reviews in my next installment of Finished Reads.

rescue The Rescue by Twyla Turner- This novella is a Valentine’s themed one. I adore love and a Valentine’s story is totally perfect for me. Can’t wait to get started with this one! Ms. Turner never disappoints with her stories. She’s one of my main go to authors.

visionVisionSight by Connie Lacy- VisionSight is a contemporary women’s fiction tale, with hints of magical realism. A young woman inherits the ability to see the future of anyone, once she looks in their eyes. Sounds so good!

living A Living Grave by Robert E. Dunn- According to the Goodreads synopsis this story is “The first in a gritty new series featuring sheriff’s detective Katrina Williams, as she investigates moonshine, murder, and the ghosts from her own past.”
