New Posts In 2018

2018 Hi, homies! I just wanted to let everyone know that I’m on a small break from blogging. However, starting in the new year I’ll be bringing more bossome content to you. Of course there’s going to be book and music themed posts as usual. I also plan to do more posts about mental health, self-care, films, TV shows, and all kinds of other ish. 😀 Thanks so much for loving and supporting Divinely Bossome! Wishing my homies a bossome holiday season!

Peace and love,

Lazy Blogger

sleepy I’m guilty of being a very lazy blogger as of late. That doesn’t mean that I haven’t missed doing posts, or that I hadn’t thought about it. I’ve missed blogging! Granted, it’s only been like three weeks since my last post. LOL. I had surgery three days ago, and I’m definitely low on energy. I’ll be back in a week. I plan on doing my first post back from lazyville on August 1. They’ll be upcoming posts about books, TV shows, movies, music, and other random ish. See ya soon, homies!

Friends Mean Well

buds This post was supposed to go up tomorrow, but I have a dentist appointment and have decided to type this out tonight. I’ve been doing great with these Blogmas posts! I’m quite proud of myself. The following post is a fun one, and it shouldn’t be taken seriously. 😀 Enjoy!

Where would we be without great friends? Over the years the dynamics of a few of my friendships have changed. Calls, visits, and hangout dates have be reduced to friendships that are maintained only through social media these days. It’s sad, but that’s life for ya.

Thankfully, I have a handful of bossome buds left. One homie in particular is a woman named Wendy. Wendy is freaking dope! She’s incredibly selfless, kind, supportive, and hella funny. I think it’s important to have a good sense of humor in these hot mess times. My homie has so many awesome attributes, but she’s also freaking hardheaded!

Let me explain a few things.

My single status is infamous amongst my inner circle. 😀 I’ve done posts about this in the past, there’s no need to go into full details about that subject. LOL. Although Winter is coming, and a sista would love a warm body to hold… dating isn’t a massive priority for me currently. My plate is already filled with other life matters, and I’m not trying to deal with drama, or bullshit from some new source. A sista is just trying to stay sane, ya dig?

Wendy isn’t letting the bullshit of life stop her. In fact she has herself a new boo! I’m happy for Wen because she deserves it! Unfortunately for me Wendy wants to freaking play matchmaker, and I’m not having it! I’m not taking the bait.

When she mentioned hooking me up with a pal of her boyfriend’s, I was like thanks, but no thanks. Did I mention that Wen and I live in different states? So because of that fact I sure as hell didn’t want her to set me up. I can’t do the long-distance thing. I prefer to have my significant other close because… hell, my appetite is ravenous, and when I want it I want it! So, yeah.

I thought she understood, but noooooo! Her hardheaded behind apparently told her new boo anyway about setting me up which equally annoyed me, and made me crack up.

She means well.

Her heart is in the right place.

Once again I had to tell Wen that I wasn’t interested  in her setting me up.

Lord, she means well, but hellz no!

I’m hoping that she moves on to the next single friend on her list. 😀

Cheers, homies!

Hope Quotes

hope Awhile back I read “Get Your Hopes Up!” by Joyce Meyer. I started the book because my hopes had basically diminished. I wasn’t hopeful about anything for a very bleak season. I really delved deeply into the book because I wanted help in getting my hope back. Hope is easy to lose when life circumstances aren’t the best; and it’s difficult to get back, but I believe it’s worth the try.

Without hope what’s really the point?

There were some pretty standout quotes I found in the book; they really captured my attention, and so I’m sharing them.

1. “Hope is the word which God has written on the brow of every man.” Victor Hugo

2. “Hope is sweet-minded and sweet-eyed. It draws pictures, it weaves fancies, it fills the future with delight.” Henry Ward Beecher

3. “Only in the darkness can you see the stars.” Martin Luther King Jr.

4. “Hope smiles from the threshold of the year to come, whispering ‘it will be happier’…” Alfred Lord Tennyson

5. “I don’t think of the misery, but of the beauty that still remains.” Anne Frank

6. “Hope is the dream of a waking man.” Aristotle

7. “The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.” Nelson Mandela

8. “You can choose to be a prisoner of hope, and look forward to God restoring a double portion of anything you have lost in life.” Joyce Meyer

9. “It’s silly not to hope.” Ernest Hemingway, The Old Man and the Sea

10. “God is the only one who can make the valley of trouble a door of hope.” Catherine Marshall

I hope these quotes will be a blessing to anyone who reads them. 🙂

Cheers, homies!

To Be A Blessing

blessIn a year filled with negativity and bs, I managed to still be blown away by the kindness of others. Times are tough for everyone, but there are those who have managed to still be a blessing to others. How amazing is it to know that extraordinary human beings still exist…

Most days I wish I were wealthy. I would love to constantly be a blessing to others. And I’m not just talking about during the holiday season, but throughout the entire year. I want to put smiles on the faces of my loved ones, and strangers alike. I would gift those closest to me with whatever they needed, so they wouldn’t have to go without. Whether a friend needs a new transmission for their car, groceries, or help with an unexpected bill; I would love to take care of all that.

Donating to agencies who support the homeless, women’s shelters, and disadvantaged kids has really been on my heart to do. I’ve especially wanted to give to kids who wouldn’t have much of a traditional Christmas. Every child- no matter what, deserves to have an unforgettable holiday season.

I want to do so much for others, but there’s a tiny problem… I’m broke as f**k!

So exactly how do you bless others when you’re financially unable?

Well, showing kindness to others isn’t expensive. Offering love and support is free. Being that shoulder for someone to lean on can be a gift, especially if that person is in need of some comfort.

Be kind. Be a blessing.

Cheers, homies!
