Current Reads #16

monster Yay!! It’s time for my Current Reads! I only have one book to talk about, so let’s get started. I won’t keep you long. LOL.

Monster In His Eyes by J.M. Darhower- Goodreads synopsis: “Ignazio Vitale is not a good man. I suspect it, the first time I see him, sense the air of danger that surrounds the man. He has a way of commanding attention, of taking control, of knowing what I’m thinking before I even do. It’s alarming and alluring. It’s dark and deadly. It’s everything I’ve ever wanted but the last thing I truly need. Obsession. It doesn’t take him long to draw me into his web, charming me into his bed and trapping me in his life, a life I know nothing about until it’s too late. He has secrets, secrets I can’t fathom, secrets that make it so I can’t walk away, no matter how much I beg him to let me go. I see it sometimes in his eyes, a darkness that’s both terrifying and thrilling. He’s a monster, wrapped up in a pretty package, and what I find when I unmask him changes everything. I want to hate him. Sometimes, I do. But it doesn’t stop me from loving him, too.”

*Shudders* Ooh, wee! Can’t wait to meet this Ignazio!

Let me know what you’re reading in the comments.

Cheers, homies!

Finished Reads #4

bookshelfHere are mini reviews for the last eight books I’ve read. Each book is given a star rating on a scale from 1 Star, to 5 Stars. 5 being the best, and 1 star means the book was whack. Ex 4.5/5 Stars

Walk The Line: Kings Of Chaos Book 5 by Shyla Colt- This was an erotic romance that grabbed me by the throat, and didn’t let go. My addiction to MC romances is so consuming, seriously. Walk The Line featured a couple in two completely different places in life. A chance meeting during a night out altered their lives for the better. I loved the passion and chemistry between the couple. The plot was on point. This was a boss read. 4.5 Stars

Forever Is The Longest Time by Camille Pagan- The story is about a disillusioned novelist who falls in love… with his best friend’s girlfriend. Typical plot, but the story goes to some deep places that we’re definitely relatable. Our protagonist goes on a journey of trying to find more out of life, and who isn’t trying to do that these days? 4.5 Stars

Live Free:┬áLord’s Of Mayhem Book 3 by Shyla Colt- I dug this book more than any other in the series. Evonne and Rocky were a dynamite couple, and I loved how their story unfolded. 3.5 Stars

Wolf Hunt by Jeff Strand- A quirky mix of horror and comedy, Wolf Hunt involved two thugs hired to transport a caged werewolf cross-country. There were moments when I burst into laughter reading this book. And there were also plenty of times that I was blown away by the horror. A few of the chapters slowed the momentum, but the spectacular ending made up for it. 3.5 Stars

Final Ride: Lords Of Mayhem Book 4 by Shyla Colt- Yeah, I know I’m a bit obsessed with this series. LOL. Hilary and Hawk are the featured couple this time around. I must admit that these two weren’t my favs. However, the storyline was interesting enough to keep me entertained. 3.5 Stars

Ghostface Killer by M. Never- Lawd!! I couldn’t stay away from this smart, erotic page-turner. If you’re into assassins, and the mob then this novel is for you. One element of the story I appreciated was the handling of a character with a mental illness. The struggles of the character was done so tastefully. Loved this! 5 Stars

Peaceable Kingdom by Jack Ketchum- Peaceable Kingdom was a collection of thirty short stories. There were a handful of stories that were a bit out there, and I didn’t connect with them at all. And then there were some gems that were totally brilliant, and thought-provoking. 3.5 Stars

Prey by Kaye Blue- I read this before I could do a post on it, so I’m including it here. Prey is the first installment of a new mob/erotic romance series by Ms. Blue. The story had so much potential, but I found myself rushing to finish it. 2.5 Stars

Cheers, homies!
